A native of Northern New Jersey, I moved to Pennsylvania in 1984. I worked in graphic and commercial art and then developed Countryside Samplings, an herb and dried flower business. I then returned to fine art.
I suppose I am a sort of hybrid with genetic material of the farming kind and of the artist. Before the artist emerged, I was a passionate gardener since childhood. I obsessively cultivate, weed and harvest; then cannot resist the itch to depict what grabs my heart and soul, letting it flow through my hands to paper and crafts. I have journeyed with watercolor, poetry, pencil, oil, acrylic, dried flowers, pastel, charcoal and others. You will see varied mediums but similar style, mostly realism, and many subjects that originate in my garden. However, just when you think you have me figured out as an artist, I will probably go off and do something different. I am a restless soul who cannot sit still. If you sit still, you will get old, so this should be a good thing. I am also a custom framer and offer framing services at my garden, art and framing studio. I am a member of the Pocono Arts Council and the Pocono Mountains Arts Council "Creativity is a gift God has shared with each one of us and I am grateful that I can use it in this way." |
